Split abdominal muscles

Diastasis recti is a very common condition that mainly affects all women who have undergone childbirth. The condition can also affect men, but is not nearly as common as for women after childbirth.

Split abdominal muscles occur when the muscles are put under too much pressure. This causes the muscles to separate and what is underneath can come out. This can mean that the intestines push through the muscles and a small bulge forms between the split abdominal muscles.

Split abdominal muscles can contract on their own after pregnancy, but if this does not happen, it is possible to resolve this with surgery. This involves repairing the abdominal wall and reducing the space between the muscles. The method used depends on the patient and will be decided after consultation.

After the procedure, muscle strength will improve considerably, especially if the gap has been more than 3 cm.

Our treatments

Mommy Makeover

After pregnancy and childbirth, it is rare for the body to return to the way it was before. Mommy Makeover consists of a number of procedures to reverse the effects of pregnancy on the body. This may include procedures such as firming, breast reduction/breast augmentation, liposuction, etc. This varies from person to person and the operation time varies depending on what needs to be done. Mommy Makeover is a term for performing several procedures during one operation.
