DR. KALAAJI AT OSLO PLASTIC SURGERY WAS INTERVIEWED BY VG ABOUT MEN AND PLASTIC SURGERY.

The article looked at men's relationship with plastic surgery surgeries and whether there has been an increase in inquiries from men in recent years.

At Oslo Plastic Surgery, there has been no change in the percentage of men compared to women who have cosmetic surgery.

However, as demand from women has increased over the past 15 years and the percentage of men to women has remained stable at 14 percent men, in practice more men than before are going under the knife - just as there are more women.

- As a business, do you feel that you are solving people's problems or that you are contributing to creating bigger body complexes among the general population?

- No, we do not feel that we are helping to create larger body complexes," writes Dr. Amin Kalaaji, head of the clinic and plastic surgeon, in an email to VG.

According to Kalaaji, chin augmentation is among the surgeries that are increasing the most among men.

- Men belong to the "weak" group here, as all the attention around this is focused on women. It can therefore feel a bit shameful or taboo to talk about, and even more so to do something about it. Those who contact us have been thinking about this for a long time and have usually spent a lot of time researching the options available. During a consultation with us, they are carefully assessed before we offer surgery. We reject those who do not have a real problem or want a "design" change.
