GUEST LECTURE IN LONDON 2013

The clinic's senior consultant has been invited as a guest lecturer to present Oslo Plastic Surgery's results with "Autologous Fat Transfer for Breast Augmentation" at the Body Conference and Exhibition, The Royal Society of Medicine London on November 2 and 3, 2013.

Aim
Fat grafting has been a wellknown clinical method for reconstruction of small defects. Recently it has been used for the face and for breast reconstruction and breast augmentation as an alternative to breast implants.

The fat was machinecentrifuged for 3 minutes in one group in 24 patients (27 enlargements) and manually centrifuged in another group of 21 patients (28 enlargements). Fat was harvested from the abdomen, thigh, buttocks, or knee and was grafted in intersecting and parallel canals through small incisions using a Coleman cannula. A loose bra was worn postoperatively.
